\u201cAtmospheric transparency of the Antarctic sky favorable\u00a0to astronomical observations. As part of the evaluation of the astronomical potential of the Concordia station in Antarctica, a campaign on the quality of the site has delivered promising results. It indicates that indeed the atmosphere above the station is in the infrared range far \/ sub-millimeter, one of the most transparent on Earth. Published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics (here<\/a>), the work carried out during the past five years by a team of researchers from the Astrophysics Service and SIS CEA-IRFU warrant further study of the astronomical potential of the white continent as essential devices to deal with its extreme conditions. The next step is the installation of the camera Camistic on the 80-cm telescope IRAIT, Southern telescope that has captured its first light in January 2011.\u201d<\/div>\n
